Added Character
Distressing can come in a wide range of options. Simple distressing can include scratches and “wormholes” on a smooth surface. More aggressive distressing, beyond the subtle marks mentioned above, can include various levels of hand tooling. Hand tooling gives the look and feel of work done by primitive craftsman with the use of traditional tools. At its most dramatic level, the work can exhibit a fully rustic character of natural wood defects coupled with intensive hand hewing.
